Antalya Family Essentials — Six Nights

Sun, culture and quiet beaches.

A relaxed, family-first week on the Mediterranean — Kaleiçi, Aspendos, and two long beach days.

The Highlight

Why this journey

This is the Mediterranean at its most accommodating — warm, safe, and endlessly distracting for children. Ancient theatres they can climb, waterfalls they can sail beneath, and long beach days where the only agenda is sandcastles and ice cream. The hotels are geared for families, the guides are patient, and the rhythm is unhurried. You return home sun-tired, culturally enriched, and with the rare sense that everyone in the family was happy.

Day by day

How the journey unfolds.

Day 1

Arrival Antalya

Private transfer to a family-friendly 4-star.

Your driver meets you at Antalya airport and takes you directly to your family-friendly 4-star hotel, likely on Lara or Konyaaltı Beach. The rooms are spacious, the pools are shallow and safe, and the buffet is generous enough to keep everyone happy. After check-in, the afternoon is yours — unpack slowly, let the kids test the pool, and settle into the rhythm of a beach holiday. By evening, you're on the terrace with a cold drink, watching the sun set over the Mediterranean, and the trip has officially begun.

Day 2

Kaleiçi

Walking tour of the old town with a kid-friendly guide.

After breakfast, your kid-friendly guide meets you for a walking tour of Kaleiçi, Antalya's beautifully preserved old town. The streets are narrow and cobbled, lined with Ottoman houses, bougainvillea, and cafés spilling onto the pavements. You'll visit Hadrian's Gate, built in 130 AD, and the old harbour where wooden gulets bob in the turquoise water. The guide keeps the history light and engaging, with stories tailored for children. By lunch, you're at a harbourfront restaurant, feet dangling over the water, watching the boats come and go.

Day 3

Aspendos + Perge

Ancient theatre and Roman ruins day tour.

Your guide collects you after breakfast for a day tour of Aspendos and Perge, two of the region's most impressive ancient sites. Aspendos is home to one of the world's best-preserved Roman theatres, seating 15,000 and still used for concerts today. The kids can run across the stage and test the acoustics — a whisper carries to the top row. Then Perge, a sprawling Roman city with colonnaded streets, a vast stadium, and public baths. The scale is impressive, the ruins are climbable, and the guide brings the history to life without overwhelming young attention spans.

Day 4

Beach day

Free day at the hotel beach.

Today is yours to do absolutely nothing. Sleep in, order breakfast by the pool, and let the kids dig, swim, and explore at their own pace. The hotel beach has sunbeds, umbrellas, and shallow water perfect for small swimmers. You'll read, nap, and watch the boats drift past. By late afternoon, someone suggests ice cream, and you wander into town for a cone the size of a child's head. No agenda, no rush — just the slow, sun-soaked rhythm of a proper beach day.

Day 5

Düden Waterfalls + boat

Half-day boat ride to the waterfalls.

This morning, you board a small boat for a half-day cruise to the Düden Waterfalls, where the river tumbles 40 metres into the sea. The boat glides close enough for the kids to feel the spray, and the captain cuts the engine so you can drift beneath the cascade. It's dramatic, noisy, and utterly delightful. Afterwards, you sail along the coast, stopping for a swim in a quiet cove. By early afternoon, you're back at the hotel, sun-tired and salt-haired, with the rest of the day to recover by the pool.

Day 6

Farewell

Free morning, transfer home.

Your final morning is slow and easy. One last swim, one last breakfast buffet, one last walk along the beach to collect shells. When it's time, your driver collects you from the hotel and takes you to the airport in comfort. The kids are sun-browned, slightly sandy, and already asking when you're coming back. You leave Antalya with a stack of family memories — ancient theatres, waterfall spray, long beach days, and the quiet sense that everyone was happy.

Local Secrets

What the guidebooks don't tell you.

Small, insider-only moments we quietly arrange for guests on this journey.

  • In Kaleiçi, stop at Mermerli Beach for a quiet swim below the old town cliffs — locals love it.

  • At Aspendos, let the kids run across the stage and test the acoustics — a whisper carries to the top row.

  • Ask your hotel to pack a picnic for the beach day — Turkish pastries, fresh fruit, and cold ayran in the shade.

  • On the boat to Düden Waterfalls, sit at the bow so the kids can feel the spray when you pass beneath the cascade.

Best time to visit

April to June and September to October are ideal for families — warm enough for swimming, cool enough for sightseeing. July and August are hot and busy, but the sea is perfect and hotels have kids' clubs. Winter is mild and quiet, with fewer crowds at the ruins, though some beach facilities close until spring.

Good to know

  • Most family hotels offer all-inclusive options — buffets, pools, and kids' clubs included.
  • Aspendos and Perge are mostly unshaded — bring hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water for the children.
  • Turkish hospitality is famously warm toward children — expect friendly staff and accommodating restaurants.
  • ATMs and pharmacies are plentiful in Antalya, but bring basics like sunscreen and insect repellent from home.

What's included

Considered from every angle.

  • Family-friendly 4-star hotel
